Nine Episodes in Isolation (2020) (2020) For violin, cello, and piano (10'). A light theme and variation based on the folksong "Johnny's Gone for a Soldier," written as a study of nine composers who specialized in music expressing isolation. Nine Dragons Fantasy (2021) (2021) is a nine-movement, approximately 50-minute electro-acoustic work for baritone/poet, string quartet, and tape, with text by Lee Tsang. It is an artistic contemplation of hybridity, weaving together folklore, text, and song to create "tuneful and mysterious transformations occurring across time and space." Premiered in April 2022 at the Tung Auditorium, Liverpool (UK), with Lee Tsang (soloist) and the Gildas String Quartet.
